Traditional New England Thanksgiving Dinner

Too busy to cook turkey and all its many trimmings on Thursday?

Don’t worry. Here’s a list of local eateries that are happy to provide the goodies for you.  They’re arranged alphabetically, which means that the delicious and completely free meal is listed last.

Breakaway Café: The café won’t be open for Thanksgiving Dinner, but will run a special Thanksgiving Brunch menu from Thursday clear through Sunday (11/24-27), 8 a.m.-2 p.m. daily. Each selection comes with a Mojito Sparkler, #2 winner in the 2011 Gloria Ferrer Cocktail Competition (it includes GF Brut). Prices: $10.50-$13.50. 19101 Sonoma Highway, Sonoma. Carneros Bistro & Wine Bar: A set-price three-course Thanksgiving Dinner offering a variety of choices for each course, from the traditional turkey to an innovative “Square Pig” pork confit. Price: $55/Adult, $30/Children. See the menu. 1325 Broadway, Sonoma. Reservations: 931-2042.

Depot Hotel Restaurant: A set-price four-course Thanksgiving Dinner (choose from 5 entrées for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike), from noon-5 p.m. Price (determined by entrée choice): From $35-48/Adults; $20/Children under 12. See the menu. 241 First St. West, Sonoma. Reservations: 938-2980.

El Dorado Kitchen: A special Thanksgiving menu with individually-priced selections. Entrée choices include turkey, Scottish salmon and New York steak. See the menu. 405 First St. West, Sonoma. Reservations: 996-3030.

Estate Restaurant: A set-price four-course menu for Thanksgiving, offering multiple choices. From noon to 8 p.m. Price: $52/Adults, $20/Children 10 and under. See the menu. 400 West Spain St., Sonoma. Reservations: 933-3663.

Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn: Two restaurants, Santé and The Big 3, are offering Thanksgiving Dinner. Santé is serving a buffet noon-8 p.m, with live entertainment by guitarist Isaac Carter. Price: $95/Adult, $47.50/Children 5-12, complimentary for children 4 and under. Reservations: 939-2415. The Big 3 is serving a traditional Thanksgiving feast and specials, all individually priced, 3-9 p.m. See the menus for both restaurants. 100 Boyes Blvd., Sonoma. Reservations: 939-2410.

girl + the fig: A set-price three-course Thanksgiving Dinner offers multiple choices in each course, including a non-traditional roasted turkey roulade as an entrée. From noon to 8 p.m. Price: $52/Adults, $20/Children 10 and under. See the menu. 110 West Spain St., Sonoma. Reservations: 938-3634.

Glen Ellen Inn: On Thursday the regular menu will include Turkey with all the expected goodies (stuffing, chive mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry chutney, caramelized sweet potatoes) for $24.95. Open 2-7 p.m. 13670 Arnold Drive, Glen Ellen. Reservations: 996-6409.

Saddles Steakhouse: The restaurant in MacArthur Place, Saddles is serving a set-price four-course (plus an Amuse Bouche) Thanksgiving Dinner 3-7:30 p.m. Choice of entrées includes tenderloin of turkey, veggie kebabs, grilled filet mignon and grouper. Price: $49.50/Adults, $25/Children under 12. See the menu. 29 E. MacArthur St., Sonoma. Reservations: 933-3191.

Sonoma Community Center: The only free Thanksgiving dinner on this list will have a Hawaiian flair (the guest chef, Norman Piianaia, is Hawaiian). On the menu: roast suckling pig, organic Willie Bird turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, veggies, bread and dessert. From 3 to 5 p.m. 276 E. Napa St., Sonoma. Information: 938-4626 x 1.
