Learn to cure olives on Sunday (12/11), 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Cline Cellars. Don Landis, a noted expert on olive curing, will lead the workshop, taking you through the history of olives in California and teaching you how to cure Greek-style olives without using lye. An olive tasting, a wine tasting, and wine discounts will be offered to all participants. Reservations are recommended for this free workshop. 24737 Arnold Drive, Sonoma. Join a “Dave & Bill Hike” along the Sonoma Ridge Trail at Jack London State Historic Park on Saturday (12/10) at 10 a.m. (meet at 9:45 in the upper parking lot). The moderate 8-mile hike will take approximately five hours, so be sure to bring lunch, layered clothing, water, and wear sturdy shoes. The hike will proceed rain or shine. Sponsored by Sonoma County Regional Parks, California State Parks, and Valley of the Moon Natural History Association, these hikes are free, but there is a small charge to park your car.  2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen. Accomplish your Holiday shopping and help support Altimira Middle School’s PTO at the same time when you shop at the school’s annual Holiday Craft Faire on Wednesday (12/7), 4-8 p.m. 17805 Arnold Drive (in the Multipurpose Room),  Sonoma. Admission is free. Information: 935-6020.
