Become a Sonoma/Petaluma State Historic Parks docent by taking volunteer docent training classes. Docents explain exhibits and lead visitors on tours of the Mission, Sonoma Barracks, the Toscano Hotel, Petaluma Adobe, and General Vallejo’s home. Learn how to treat the problems of lymphedema—lymph-vessel blockage—after cancer treatment during a free workshop given by Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy in Oakmont on Thursday (2/23), 9 a.m. Joan Langfeld will lead the discussion. Learn how to draw flowers with colored pencils during a one-day workshop at the Sonoma Community Center on Saturday (2/25), 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The class will be taught by Nina Antze, who will focus on the basics of color theory, drawing skills, mixing/blending colors, and drawing spring and summer flowers like daffodils, tulips, roses and iris. Come to an open house given by the vintners of Eighth Street Wineries on Saturday (2/25), 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The collective represents 10 artisan wineries who open their cellar doors twice yearly to share new release and library wines with fine food pairings. This time around the event doubles as a fundraiser, with 10% of advance ticket sales going to water.org, the international charity co-founded by Matt Damon. 21962 Eighth Street East, Sonoma.
